Throw some D's on that bitch

Tomorrow. Ah, tomorrow. Tomorrow will be the last time EVAH I look at my bank account and feel like a fuckin' pimp. A pimp with a current account and maestro card.

Rich Boy - Throw Some D's
Lil Wyte - Fucked Up
Fleetwood Mac - The Chain (obviously only play the Formula 1 bit)

And after tomorrow, well it's back to being a schlub.

The Style Council - You're The Best Thing

The Style Council - You're The Best Thing

How fondly can I call you mine, bound by every tie which consecrates the most inviolable friendship, yet separated by cruel destiny, I feel the pangs of absence sometimes too sensibly for my own repose.
...I feel myself alone in the world, without anyone to tenderly care for me, or lend me an assisting hand through the difficulties that surround me.
Yet my cooler reason disapproves the ripening thought, and bids me bless the hand from which my comforts flow.

The Cars - Drive

The Cars - Drive

The Guardian were doing 1000 songs to hear before you die the other week. It was broken down by things like peoples and places, party songs and some other bollocks. In the people and places bit was The Cars - Drive, which I've always loved but never given it too much thought. Apparently its a last ditch cry to a friend/lover who is hooked on something bad and well wouldn't you know 'whose gonna drive you home, tonight?'

Sill, great dad record that could make a brick cry after 9 pints of strong lager.

Nina - 99Luftballons

Nina - 99Luftballons

This song seems to have swum into my world a few times recently; in the episode of 30 Rock where Liz claims it was her nana Lemon's favourite song or as Kenneth refers to it, 'Nina's famous anti-ballon song'. It's also in the dreadful Watchmen film, where I have to say it is used to great effect.

I just love the breathy, solo opening vocals. It's feels so empty, like it could be the last sound you hear before leaping off a mountain.

Animal Collective - My Girls (HATCHMATIK Disco Bootleg)

Animal Collective - My Girls (HATCHMATIK Disco Bootleg)

I bought the album, Merriweather Post Pavillion a month or so back. Apart from being a fine damn album it comes on 4 sides of wonderful 180grm vinyl. For me, the most pleasing vinyl there is.

My Girls was the track that stuck out for me right away but there are others greats on there,
Daily Routine I think being the other cracker but I couldn't find any fun remixes of that track.

Pretty lame, but I do love shit like this.

The Specials - Friday Night/Saturday Morning

The Specials - Friday Night/Saturday Morning

I'm going out tonight. Gonna dabble in some wrong'en. Talk a bit a balls to some people. All good fun. The only worry is: I HAVEN'T BEEN OUT IN FUCKING AGES! What the hell do people do? I am actually pretty scared of the outside night world now. Young people all out blowing what's left of the credit the banks have afforded them and there will be me. Old, used up and probably very tired. Oh well, gotta get out and see what's happening.

I'm Buck. And I like ta fuck.

Pining...

900th in the series of me feeling emo about some love life stuff. This has also become tinged with friendship stuff and all this has veered me to listening to this song.

Man, it's been a while for this one.

Death in Vegas - Help Yourself

New socks for me

I may well be doing a focus group next week and with £60 in my pocket, to blast on whatever I want, I may stop off and purchase this pair of rather fetching gents socks. Even without the focus group smash, I shall purchase these.

Scott Garcia - It's a London Thing

Sweating now. Warmed up. Feeling good. Looking around. Seeing friends. Talking to people. Feet all light. Hey, I know this tune. Ages innit.

Usura - Open Your Mind

Usura - Open Your Mind

Gingerly creeping into the club. Knowing that we've evaded the evil eye of the bouncers. Walking through this deeply alien country. Fit girls around us. Burly boys who know what they're doing, leaning on posts eyeing our group. Fish around your sock. Grab the stuff. Beer? Yeah, couple of beers. Bar 10 ten deep. How much? For 2 beers? Fucking hell. Fuck it. Walk away sipping to check out whats happening. Couple of early victims on the stairwell. Be there soon. Quick walk around again and then to the toilets. Urinals free. Cubicles, queue is a mile deep. Fuck this. Walk on the dance floor. Fish around again for your stuff. You dropping? Yeah. Me too then. Get on it son. You feeling it yet? Nah, you? Think so. I'm going for a walk... Heeellllooooooooo.

Rob n Raz feat. Leila K - Got to Get

Rob n Raz feat. Leila K - Got to Get

Another one of those half remembered songs from a time before visas, credit, bureaucrats, twats and travel were even an twinkling in the eye.

Azoto - Exalt Exalt (1979)

Azoto - Exalt Exalt

I am not going to make a habit of stealing and reposting but this comes from Beatelectric
and it's f-in 'andsome sunshine.

Italo lust played out on the waxy waxy.

I imagine a white suited 1970's Lee Marvin heading after some gangsters with a fuck off big 6 shooter in hand, hunting down those who took his life. Sort of like Point Blank but set somewhere Europe instead and with far more violence and a way cooler soundtrack. If not Lee Marvin, then Chevy Chase in a very different life.

Alphaville - Forever Young

Alphaville - Forever Young (Extended Mix)

Hmmm, I seem to be heading down an 80's Hairdresser pop route at the moment.

The Seahorses - You Can Talk to Me

Suddenly this song popped into my head earlier on. Happy to concede that it isn't amazing, but I have a deep affection for the song. Probably nostalgia for the BritPop summer I never actually experienced.

Christina Hendricks

She has big boobs and is in Mad Men.

Demis Roussos - I Dig You

Demis Roussos - I Dig You

I stole this from someone, who stole it from someone, who probably got it from somewhere else. I can't hide my shock that there is a Demis song more awesome then Forever and Ever!

The Arsenal...

Second goal against the doorty doorty Blackburn was amazing.

Inside Today

Made as part of some Today show viral ad challenge. The weird, and terrifying, part for me is that is made me laugh way too much. The Evan Davis bit actually make me LOL.

Praetor Shinzon...

He...

Become...

Another Trek dude becomes amazing. He was Praetor Shinzon in Star Trek 500, the one directed by Stuart Baird, the one that was fucking shit. Good on ya boy for shaking off the death of Data. I fucking mean that, Star Trek 52000 was as bad Star Trek V, and that did have a massive floating head.

True Tigers - Bare Face What

Great for when you're angry as fuck. I am not right now, but well could be in about 35mins or so.

The Car (1977)

The classic story of a car terrorizing a small Utah town. The car is perhaps... The spawn of the devil! Arghhhhhh.

I also saw this film in the classic fashion; laying on a sofa, in my pants, in a country where the time between here and the UK was waaayyyyyyy off.

Harry and the Hendersons

A modern parable.

A Flock of Seagulls - Space Age Love Song

A Flock of Seagulls - Space Age Love Song

They had funny hair didn't they? Hey, hey, hey. 'Cept the drummer. He was a bald.

Girl toons

That is all I can remember.

Kanye West - Love Lockdown (2008)

Why do some people really really hate Kanye? I think he is amazing, not the music per se, but the clearly mental aspect of him. Keep living that d:ream Kanye!

UN Gang

In Vancouver there is a gang called the 'UN'. And despite their rather nerferious activities, it's lovely to see such an ethnically diverse gang. It speaks volumes for this richly diverse city. Keep living the dream lads.
