The B-52's - Mess of a Tanian (Mike Simionetti edit)

Mess of a Tanian (Mike Simionetti edit)

Are the B-52's a band we are all supposed to have listened to every single album by? Someone seems to dig up a track by them every so often that is amazing. My old manager at a bar I once worked at used to blare them out, full blast at 9am everyday. I laughed at him. I now feel I should reexamine this previous stance.

SWV - Right Here (Human Nature Mix)

What a lameo. I didn't know this was a sample from the my man, the late MJ. May he rest in peace with the other fallen homies: TuPac, Biggie, Ayrton Senna, Bill Shankly and Harold Wilson. Peace brothers.

MJ - RIP PT. 2

MJ - RIP

Michael Jackson & Paul McCartney - Say, Say, Say

FUCKING HELL!

White Man's Burden

Has anyone ever seen this? I remember that this was Johnny T's first project pretty much straight after Pulp Fiction and it disappeared without trace. Check the jaunty v.o. 'From the producers of Pulp Fiction...", always a bad sign.

Nolan Thomas - Too White

Girls Cost Money

Whilst digging through some e-mails on my gmail account I came across a number old tunes that I had completely forgotten about... Like this.

Rod Stewart - Some Guys Have All The Luck

Some Guys Have All The Luck

I was about to write something, but I can't really be bothered now.

Product Music

7/11 - Dance the Slurp
Ford Motor Company - Tractor Driving Man

I, like the rest of world heard DJ Shadow and Cut Chemists Brainfreeze sets on that CD that cost £20 a million weeks a go and I LOVED the Dance The Slurp sample. And I tracked it down on a rereleased 7" about 15 months ago. And when I remember that the record is in a box, at my parents house, 4500miles away. I get a little sad.

WFMU - More product music mp3's n 128k.

Human League - Fascination

Fascination

Wow. Vancouver is fresh and healthy! I know, I know. What a trite statement. I have been here 3 days and it has been nothing but bright, sunny, hot, fresh and lovely.

And in an effort to assuage myself of the heat I needed to buy some shorts. Too Old Navy we headed for 1/2 off all mens wear, I said which half? We all laughed. And apart from very very ugly shorts this song stood out. I nearly started dancing in the isles like a weak 80's dancepoloitation flick.

Peter, Bjorn and John - Sitar Folks

Sitar Folks

Peter, Bjorn and John are a much better band then just being the band that 'wrote that whistling tune' but they will never escape it. And they do themselves no favours by wanging this on the double vinyl version of their second album (white comes on white vinyl, spurt).

Still, it's really a relaxing listen.

Vancouver

Here I am in Vancouver, well not in the picture. But I am here. After a lot of tears, some of the most truly harrowing goodbyes I have ever had to say and after nearly a year of planning, it's now real. Lorks a lordy.

Let's hope I can keep the high quality blogging going. Eh!

Don't Look Back...

Last full day in the UK for a bit. To those who read this and actually know me in person, I'll miss you. I'll be updating this of course and there is also my Flickr page as well.

I hate to sound like a dill but I will, I love you all.

I'll see you in another life, when we are all cats
