One of those songs, along with Age Of Consent I suppose, where I see myself running along a beach or into a field on a hot sunny day, bottle of white wine in hand, falling down out of breathe and laying down looking into the sky.
Sampling fun. I was watching P3 this afternoon and was surprised to hear this in the closing credits. Three points if you can guess where this was sampled. And if you do, you live in 2002. Loser.
As seems my custom, I turn to Death In Vegas' 2002 album Scorpio Rising when in need of some comfort and solace. And so I turned to them today and then began to read how the eponymous title track contains a sample of this Quo track.
As I trudged, and yes I continue to trudge, to work this morning I put it on and was dumfounded about how catchy Pictures of Matchstick Men is. I don't think I'll be doing a full tour of old Quo but there maybe some gold to be had.
I have been watching this on the various PBS stations available here and with out a doubt it is the most relaxing programme I have watched in a long time.
Basic idea: the story of America's nationals parks from inception to the present day. Place pipe in hand. Fill brandy glass. Relax.
